A Successful Pump Refurbishment

The existing infrastructure, including the pumps, pipework, control panel, and munchers, was no longer meeting the demands of their operations. Faced with frequent breakdowns and maintenance issues, they needed a solution that was both low-maintenance and dependable.

The client’s pump station had been struggling for some time. The aging pumps and pipework were not only inefficient but also prone to frequent failures, causing significant disruptions to their operations. The control panel, which was critical for managing the station’s performance, was outdated and lacked the necessary functionality for modern requirements. Additionally, the munchers, which are essential for breaking down solid materials, were no longer effective, leading to blockages and further complications.

Recognizing the need for a comprehensive overhaul, the client turned to MechPump for a solution that would restore reliability and efficiency to their pump station.

Our team at MechPump quickly got to work, starting with a thorough assessment of the existing setup. We knew that simply replacing parts wouldn’t be enough; we needed a complete redesign that would address all of the underlying issues while also preparing the station for future demands.

We introduced two Sulzer XFP 100G pumps, specifically chosen for their high head capabilities and exceptional reliability. These pumps are designed to handle even the most demanding conditions, making them ideal for the client’s dry well setup. With these new pumps in place, the station could now operate smoothly, with significantly reduced risk of breakdowns.

In addition to the new pumps, we installed updated pipework and a state-of-the-art control panel. The new control panel offers advanced monitoring and control features, allowing the client to manage the station more effectively and respond quickly to any potential issues. The munchers were also replaced with more efficient models, ensuring that solid materials are handled without causing blockages or interruptions.

The transformation of the pump station was nothing short of remarkable. With the new equipment in place, the client now enjoys a reliable, low-maintenance solution that meets their operational needs. The risks of downtime have been drastically reduced, and the efficiency of the station has been greatly improved.
